Handicrafts

Handcraft is associated with handicraft. A handicraft, also recognised as local artisans craftsmanship or made by hand, is any of a variety of types of craft in which useful and decorative objects are entirely created by hand or with only simple, non-automated related tools such as scissors, carving implements, or hooks. Handicraft has its roots in ancient civilizations' rural crafts—the material-goods necessities—and many specific crafts have been practised for centuries, while others are modern inventions or popularizations of crafts that were originally practised in a limited geographic area. While some handcrafters favour contemporary, non-traditional materials and even upcycle industrial materials, others frequently use natural, even fully indigenous, materials.
